About Letterpress Letterpress printing is credited with being one of the most significant developments of the last millennium. As the first widely-used printing method, letterpress helped give birth to the age of enlightenment and open the world of letters to more than just the very wealthy. Letterpress has a very distinct and recognizable style. A raised form, made from metal, wood or plastic is inked with a roller and then actually pressed into the paper. When done skillfully, it has an authenticity and tactile quality that is lacking in more modern printing techniques.
